Play It Forward: Providing Sporting Supplies to Schools

By Tonka Dobreva 09.22.2016 interact > Impact

The Play It Forward initiative is a charity which brings playground equipment to elementary schools that need it but can’t afford to buy it. Play It Forward was founded in 2012 by 12-year-old Emily Eisner who was passionate about sports and wanted to find a way to help her community.

playitforward3Since its inception, the organization collects sporting supplies — from hula hoops to football, basketball and soccer balls — through organizing donation drive events and working with corporate sponsorships. The donated equipment is then distributed to the physical education departments at schools, ensuring that every gift of equipment is exactly what the school needs for their physical education program.

Here’s how you can get involved:

You can also find more information about the organization on the Play It Forward website.
