A women’s shelter is a safe haven and a place of temporary refuge for women (and sometimes their children) escaping violent or abusive situations. Most shelters operate on donations from the community.
Consider helping those in need by donating the following:
1) Donate Goods
Clothes, like jackets, jeans and shoes, are one of the most requested items at a women’s shelter. Consider asking a parent or guardian if they want to donate some of their things as well. Household items like sheets and towels are also much needed.
2) Donate Time
Depending on the age requirement, a women’s shelter may be in need of volunteers to help serve food and make beds. Google around to find a shelter near you and find out what they might need help with (and make sure you have your parent’s permission!).
3) Donate Supplies
Some shelters run arts programs, so donating old school supplies can make a difference. Scrapbook paper, stickers and glitter glue are all items you might consider tossing into your cart.
4) Donate Financially
Any kind of financial donation, whether it’s cash or a gift card to the grocery store, is almost always welcome.
That is just wonderful
I would NEVER support anything that doesn’t allow men. That should be banned. It is just as bad as the laws in Saudi Arabia!
I think that this is such a good idea for the woman to be in a shelter
