Vote: Are Augmented Reality Trading Cards the Next Big Thing?

By Tonka Dobreva 10.08.2017 interact

This week’s Next Big Thing takes card games to a whole new level! Genesis is an augmented reality card game that allows characters on the cards to come to life — all you need is your smart phone and a set of table top cards. It was invented by two teens with a childhood dream to bring to life games like Pokemon and Mortal Kombat.

We want to know what you think — are augmented reality trading cards the Next Big Thing? Vote and tell us your opinion in the comments section below. Or submit your video comments to nbt@channelone.com. We will feature the results of the poll and some of your comments on the show!

I don’t think it will be the next big thing because you need a smartphone and it doesn’t give you imagination like the training cards like pokemon.

  5. Hayley

I think this could be the NBT because, well, it’s awesome!

I think that it will be the Next Big Thing! I, myself, love Pokemon and would love to see my rare and strong cards come to life!

I don’t think that augmented reality trading cards are the next big thing because it involves technology and not everyone has a smartphone to play with them. Honestly, I think that the world has become to obsessed with technology. We should enjoy what’s around us more than what’s on our phones.
