Vote: Is Chat Fiction the Next Big Thing?

By Tonka Dobreva 09.04.2017 interact

September is National Literacy Month, and this week we’ve got a Next Big Thing to help you get your reading on!

Don’t like turning book pages? Enter chat fiction apps. “Hooked” is a free app that allows users to read bite-sized stories on their smartphones in the form of text messages between two people. Because it’s so engaging in its storytelling format, the app has become quite popular and has so far been downloaded by more than 20 million people!

So what do you think — is chat fiction the Next Big Thing? Vote and tell us your opinion in the comments section below. Or submit your video comments to nbt@channelone.com. We will feature the results of the poll and some of your comments on the show!

Yes! I love it this will make my phone so much more interesting

  4. Alexis

I believe this isn’t the next big thing because it isn’t helping move more into the future people rather things that can help them in the future rather than things that don’t really help however that could work but you’ll have to really sell it make it look good enough .

I think this could be the next big thing because this generation has an obsession towards phones and texting this just makes it easier for us to be interested

  6. Daniel Robinson

I said no because at the end of the day your trying to make student use there phone for something educational

  7. Trienere Bass

More people would read in this form but I think it should be completely free to read or else we will decide to read a physical book or e-book.

  8. tania jackson

it is a great idea, you may have to pay to see pictures or whatever but it keeps our youth busy and strong minded, ready to read more. with this app more children will want to read stories:)

I think Chat Fiction is the next Big Thing Even though you have to pay to read stories and see pics but you feel like you are the characters in the book your reading so that’s cool

  14. Jesse

I Would Rate It 5 Out Of 10 There Are Great stories
But It Relys To Much On Texting
