Vote: Should Apple Change Its Software to Allow Parents to Limit Your Phone Use?

By Tonka Dobreva 01.08.2018 interact

Apple recently has come under pressure from two of its major investors to address what they say is a growing addiction to iPhone among young people. The push is to offer parents more choices and tools that could help them control kids’ phone use.

Studies have shown that too much screen time can lead to health and behavioral problems for young people, including obesity, shorter attention spans and higher rates of depression.

We want to know what you think — should Apple change its software to allow parents to limit your phone use? Vote and tell us your opinion in the comments section below. We will feature the results of the poll and some of your comments on the show.

no parents should not limit our own phone

No kids need their freedom once in awhile. Then they can not use some app because parents can block those apps.

  10. Kayanna

no because most babies and older kids can communicate with each other on the phone if you don’t live near them or if they moved to another country, state, or city

  11. Belle

I think they shouldn’t because first their are already apps that limit the use of a device and second my dad would my have like 20 minutes.

  12. Blair

Yes. Most of us spend more time on our phones than having face to face interactions. Having face to face interactions is an important life skill to have when we’re adults. Apple is not going to take our phones away, they’re just giving parents an option to limit our usage.
