On the show today you learned about a new study that observed for months enlisted Marines — men and women — side by side in simulated battles. The results of the study concluded that women were at a certain disadvantage — in almost every area, the all-male teams performed significantly better than those units with both male and female members. Men proved faster in tactical movement, had better accuracy and registered more hits on targets and were better at overcoming obstacles.
Despite these findings, some say that women can handle military tasks– physically and mentally– on the same level as men and can deal well with stress on the battle field.
We want to know what you think. Should female Marines be allowed on the front lines with men? Vote and let us know what you think in the comments sections below. We will feature the results of the poll and some of your comments on the show.
Yes, because at the end of the day, women work just as hard as men and deserve to be treated just as equal.
The fact that we are entirely ignoring is the abuse that women in war sustain. If there was a way to rule out any possibility of sexual abuse at war I would be all for women joining the fight. But until women are adequately informed of the risks they are taking (after which I can’t imagine what woman would still consider joining) I can’t see how we can allow women at war. It’s not about ability, for women are more than capable. It’s about safety. Safety from a pandemic that can kill before reaching the battlefield.
I think men and women are created equal and women should be aloud to fight, but men can grow to be so big and overpower women because men are strong by nature.
I’m a girl and sometimes I’m more powerful than men it is sexist if the don’t
I think men and women have been created fully and totally equal. For every liability woman have, physically and mentally, men have one to.
women have the same rights as men does and if a women can accomplish what a man can do then she has a right to be on the front line.
Women might not be as good at the jobs men have to do on the front lines but women should still be given the chance to do the job, they should not be turned away because of their gender.
I think they should because at the end of the day men and women both have the same job. So why is it hard for people to understand women can do the same thing that men can do
Yes, womens should join the army because they the rights.
