Your Earth Day Impact

By Tonka Dobreva 05.01.2015 interact

This year Earth Day was April 22, and Channel One spent a whole week celebrating the environment. We talked about things like switching to a sustainable lifestyle, the greenest cities in the U.S., and how to choose a career that makes the world a better place.

We also got lots of submissions from our viewers showing us the ways that your school or classroom made an impact on Earth Day. From creative trash cleanup to planting lots of greenery, you all did an amazing job changing the world around you. Check out the slideshow of your pictures below!

The 11th grade students at this school in Jinhua, China celebrated Earth Day by collecting trash and making bottle bricks to use to build Earth Benches on campus. They did this in an effort to make other students more aware of how to reduce and reuse their trash.

Ms. Denney’s sixth grade class in Oregon spent several hours at the Yamhill County Horse Rescue. There, they pulled weeds that are poisonous to the animals, spread gravel in the training arena, leveled ground in a new barn, and groomed horses who had been neglected or abused.
