Born and raised in New Jersey, Arielle Hixson has always had a passion for arts and cultural events. She discovered her love for journalism in college while working as an Editorial Assistant at CosmoGirl and later blogging for The Huffington Post. Arielle graduated Cum Laude from Wesleyan University with a degree in psychology. She then went straight to graduate school at Georgetown University to pursue her masters in journalism. Her natural curiosity and passion for storytelling inspired her to become a reporter.
During graduate school she worked at PBS, ABC NewsOne, Fox 5 News and NBC 4 Washington. In the fall of 2012 she had the opportunity to work as the National Press Intern for the White House during President Obama’s second election. Once she graduated from Georgetown she became a News Associate for NBC 4 New York where she covered a variety of events from the 2013 New York Mayoral Election to movie premieres on the red carpet.
In her spare time Arielle loves watching films, playing music, dancing and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to join the Channel One News team and bring new and exciting stories to viewers across the country.
